New partners Janet Mackenzie and Tracy Cohen joined on 1 March to drive the advisory business in the Convergence and New Media Practice area.

Both Janet and Tracy have distinguished track records in the telecommunications and broadcasting sector as well as more traditional media. They have been both independent advisors as well as in-house counsel with a strong appreciation for client needs.

Janet re-joins the firm after five years and brings over 20 years of telecommunications, media and broadcasting law experience. Having advised prominent international and local telecommunications operators and broadcasters, she has extensive expertise in these sectors as well as an in-depth understanding of media rights acquisitions and the entertainment industry.

Tracy, meanwhile, has over 18 years’ experience in telecoms, broadcasting law and regulatory policy. She has a background in strategy, management and governance in the telecommunications and energy sectors. She is a former regulator at ICASA and has chaired the Board of the National Nuclear Regulator.

We are excited to have this new talent on board and we are confident that they will play an instrumental role in helping us shape and build the firm as we continue to accelerate our capability in the telecommunications, broadcasting and traditional and new media space.
