African Harvest
Involved in a number of merger and acquisition transactions involving the African Harvest group of companies starting with the disposal of the core assets of African Harvest to a management consortium backed by Mzi Khumalo in 2002 and then the acquisition, by way of a scheme of arrangement of the shares in Africa Harvest by Coronation and finally culminating in the sale of African Harvest Fund Managers to Cadiz in 2007.
Advised Cape Empowerment Trust
Advised Cape Empowerment Trust in a number of transactions particularly in relation to the acquisition of interests (directly and indirectly) in Grand Parade Investments including the proposed takeovers of Sancino and BLRT.
Advised Brimstone Investment Corporation in relation to the negotiations and structuring of a number of acquisitions and investments particularly in the clothing and textile industries (Novel and Rex Trueform).
Assisted Incwala Resources
Assisted Incwala Resources in leading a due diligence of Mvela Resources in relation to a R760 million offer.
Denel
Advised and assisted Denel in a number of projects and disposals and led a due diligence team in a major due diligence of its Western Cape operations required as part of a planned disposal of interests in Denel's munitions business to a major international group.
CFBT Education Trust
Advised CFBT Education Trust, a major UK education institution, in relation to a number of investments and acquisitions of interests in South Africa.
Damen Shipyards
Advised Damen Shipyards in relation to its offset obligations pursuant to the award of a multimillion rand ship building contract.
Southern Spars Group
Advised the Southern Spars Group (a leading international carbon fibre mast manufacturing group) in its acquisition of several South African operations.
Groupon
Advised Groupon, a major US electronic commerce company, on its acquisition and foray into South Africa.
Advised Fossil Europe B.V. in relation to its acquisition and investment in South Africa through the acquisition of a majority interest in a distributor;
City of Cape Town
Acted for the City of Cape Town in relation to its (then) largest property acquisition;
Sygnia Life Limited
Acted for Sygnia Life Limited in relation to the listing of its securities on the Johannesburg Securities Exchange.
