The impact of geopolitical and geo-economic shifts on SA Inc
As South Africa approaches the 1 August 2025 deadline for the implementation of the 30% US tariffs, CDH and Deloitte recently hosted an event examining the wide-ranging impact of geopolitical and geo-economic shifts on SA Inc. The discussion focused on tariff impositions, global trade realignments, and how South African businesses can navigate these changes and emerge stronger.
Nastascha Harduth, Director and Sector Head of Corporate Debt, Turnaround & Restructuring, told SABC News that the 30% tariff will significantly affect businesses exporting to the US. Nastascha emphasised the importance of businesses acknowledging the reality of these changes and proactively identifying steps to insulate and protect themselves.
