CDH's Banking Finance & Projects, and Tax & Exchange Control Teams acted as South African legal advisors to the San Miguel Group (a world leader in citrus production and the processing of value-added citrus products, in the Southern hemisphere) for the implementation of a refinance transaction whereby the San Miguel Group procured a US$81 million financing package for the expansion of its multinational citrus business from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, and the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IDB Invest).

This refinance transaction reaffirms IDB Invest' and IFC's support for one of the most important valued-added citrus fruit products exporters of Latin America, Southern Africa and the Caribbean. It also marks a significant milestone in the growth and enhancement of the San Miguel Groups citrus business, working capital and expansion plans across Latin America, Southern Africa and the Caribbean.
