About Patrick Uaurikirua
Patrick co-founded Kauta, Basson & Kamuhanga Inc. in 2001, and led the 2006 merger that formed Dr Weder, Kauta & Hoveka Inc. (WKH). As a Senior Partner, he has played a central role in shaping the firm's direction and growth.
Patrick was appointed as the Namibia Managing Partner of Kauta, Barendse and Kishi Inc t/a CDH Namibia, effective 1 September 2025.

Patrick is one of Namibia’s most respected legal practitioners, with nearly three decades of experience spanning complex litigation, constitutional law, corporate governance, and strategic regulatory advisory work. As Managing Partner of CDH Namibia, he combines courtroom authority with institutional leadership, advising corporates, regulators, and public institutions on matters of national importance and commercial consequence.
His career reflects a rare ability to operate effectively across public law, private enterprise, and constitutional accountability frameworks, positioning him as a trusted advisor at the intersection of justice, governance, and economic development.
Litigation, Constitutional and Judicial experience
Patrick is a senior Supreme Court and High Court litigator who has led some of Namibia’s most complex and high-profile disputes thereby shaping the country’s legal landscape. His service as an Acting High Court Judge reflects peer recognition of his legal judgment, independence, and professional integrity. This experience provides him with a sophisticated understanding of judicial reasoning that strengthens both his litigation strategy and advocacy. Patrick has also played a leading role in international legal proceedings, including matters involving genocide reparations claims against foreign states, demonstrating sustained engagement with historical justice, accountability, and international human rights principles.

Corporate, Regulatory & Board-Level Leadership
In addition to his litigation practice, Patrick is a trusted strategic advisor to boards, regulators, and state-owned enterprises navigating complex governance environments. He currently serves as Chairperson of Old Mutual Finance Namibia and previously chaired NAMCOR, where he provided strategic oversight during periods of institutional development and sector transformation. Patrick acts as counsel to the Namibia Financial Supervisory Authority and Communication Regulatory Authority of Namibia and has also acted for the Namibia Competition Commission, advising on competition law, merger control, and regulatory enforcement.
Patrick is widely respected for his ability to translate legal complexity into commercially practical strategy, enabling institutions to manage risk while supporting investment confidence, regulatory alignment, and long-term sustainability.

Patrick’s legal career reflects a sustained commitment to constitutionalism, access to justice, and the rule of law. Patrick was recently appointed as Patron of the JP Karuaihe Foundation, succeeding President Sam Nujoma in this role. The appointment reflects national recognition of his contribution to the legal profession and his commitment to advancing legal education, strengthening constitutional values, and expanding opportunities for future generations of Namibian legal practitioners.

Patrick is a former President of the Namibia Law Association, where he contributed to strengthening professional standards and supporting the independence of the legal profession.
