Thabile succeeds Attie Pretorius, who will remain in the firm as a Director in the Real Estate practice, having fulfilled a successful term of four years in the Chairperson role.
Arguably one of South Africa’s most well-known litigators, Thabile is a respected member of the legal community, with her strength of character, work ethic, affability and leadership embodying CDH’s values.
Thabile has over 20 years of experience in commercial and insolvency dispute litigation, in both the public and private sector. Having joined CDH as a Director in January 2012, Thabile has played a significant role as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and has contributed to a number of CDH’s operational and strategic sub-committees.
Brent Williams, CDH’s Chief Executive Officer, says, “We welcome Thabile’s appointment to direct the firm which Attie, together with the leadership team, successfully steered for the past four years. I know that Thabile is the right person for the job. This important appointment shows our commitment to transformation in the firm and the legal industry as a whole.”
On her new appointment, Thabile says, “With over 350 attorneys on board, CDH has a strong history and an impressive track record. CDH has built a reputation of being a leading business law firm in South Africa, and in Africa, thanks to our cross-discipline strength and our longstanding client partnerships. I am honoured to be part of a formidable team at the helm of the firm’s next chapter and look forward to contributing to the leadership’s further success.”
