CDH appoints Mmatiki Aphiri as a Corporate and Commercial Director as it continues to expand in key areas

Leading business law firm Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr (CDH) continues to expand its award-winning Corporate and Commercial practice with the appointment of Mmatiki Aphiri as a Director in the Mining and Minerals sector.

Aphiri, who has strong experience in the mining and property sector, brings a wealth of experience to a team that regularly advises on some of the biggest deals in Africa. 

“With complexity pertaining to the legal aspects of major deals on the rise, we are very excited to have someone with the energy and skill set of Mmatiki join our team,” says Allan Reid, Director and the Head of CDH’s Mining and Minerals sector. 

Mmatiki began her career as a Candidate Attorney in 2006 at Mervyn Taback Inc and was appointed a Director of Mervyn Taback Inc in 2010. 

From providing sage advice on the implications of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (MPRDA) to BEE legislation, Mmatiki has a sound knowledge of securing new applications for mineral rights, permits and permissions, due diligence investigations and the conversion of rights under the MPRDA. Her expertise also includes transfers of mining and prospecting rights and disposals of mining-related assets and operations.
