The Employment Equity Amendment Bill (the “EEAB") was on 17 November 2021 passed by the National Assembly and transmitted to the National Council of Provinces for concurrence.  The Select Committee is scheduled to meet in 2022 for its finalisation. Abigail Butcher, Associate in our Employment Law Practice unpacked one of the central questions considered surrounding the EEAB whether the proposed amendments to the Employment Equity Act (the “EEA“) through the EEAB, will work further towards eradicating the hurdles which remain in place for women.
