In the early 2000s, two businessmen joined forces to sell stainless-steel door hardware under the
Quicksilver (QS) brand. They agreed – informally – that Mercury Fittings (the respondent) would
operate in the Western, Eastern and Northern Cape, and Doorware (the appellant) would cover the rest
of the country.
