Frieda Kishi is a Director in our Employment Law practice, with over 22 years of experience advising clients across employment, civil, commercial, criminal, and real estate law. Her career reflects a deep commitment to legal excellence and client service, having represented leading corporates, regulators, and government institutions before the High Court, Supreme Court, and various labour forums.

She is highly regarded for her expertise in employment and labour relations, particularly in disciplinary proceedings, organisational restructuring, compliance, and dispute resolution. Frieda’s strategic insight and meticulous preparation have earned her a reputation for delivering practical, solutions-driven outcomes in complex and sensitive matters.

Frieda was appointed as the first female Director at Dr Weder, Kauta & Hoveka Inc. (WKH), leading the firm’s expansion into northern Namibia. Her appointment marked a significant milestone in the Namibian legal industry. WKH is one of Namibia’s leading conveyancing firms with a strong record in complex real estate and legislative work.

Frieda was appointed as a Director of Kauta, Barendse and Kishi Inc t/a CDH Namibia, effective 1 September 2025.

Namibia Airports Company (NAC) – Chairperson: Disciplinary Hearings

  • Chaired disciplinary hearings involving operational and administrative staff within a highly regulated aviation environment.Ensured proceedings were conducted in line with labour law, collective agreements, and aviation sector regulations. Delivered impartial rulings that promoted fairness, compliance, and effective labour relations.

Development Bank of Namibia (DBN) – Initiator: Disciplinary Hearings

  • Acted as Initiator (prosecutor) in disciplinary proceedings, drafting charges, presenting evidence, and leading witnesses.Ensured cases were presented thoroughly and in compliance with the Labour Act and corporate governance principles.Worked closely with HR and management to safeguard procedural fairness while protecting the Bank’s institutional integrity.

Central North Regional Electricity Distributor (CENORED) – Initiator: Disciplinary Hearings

  • Initiated disciplinary proceedings in the energy and utilities sector, handling cases of employee misconduct, non-performance, and breach of company policies.Drafted charge sheets, prepared case strategies, and led evidence presentation before disciplinary panels. Ensured proceedings aligned with statutory requirements and internal governance frameworks, thereby reducing litigation risk and maintaining labour stability.

PAAB – Regulatory Framework Advisory

  • Provided research and legal advice to the Public Accountants and Auditors Board (PAAB) on its regulatory framework, focusing on compliance with statutory mandates and alignment with best governance practices.

Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) – Labour Arbitration and Opinion Work

  • Served as member of the disciplinary committee and participated in arbitration proceedings before the Office of the Labour Commissioner. Responsible for assessing evidence, rendering legal opinions, and advising on fair decision-making procedures.

Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (MVA) – Chairperson of Disciplinary Appeal Hearing

  • Appointed as Chairperson of the appeal hearing panel. Oversaw proceedings, evaluated evidence, and rendered decisions ensuring compliance with labour law and internal disciplinary codes.

Oshakati Town Council – Drafting of Municipal By-Laws

  • Engaged by the Oshakati Town Council to draft municipal by-laws and facilitate stakeholder training on the Local Authorities Act. Provided legal drafting expertise and delivered workshops for council management and stakeholders to enhance regulatory compliance.

Grow More Investments CC – Conventional Property Transfer (Tsumeb)

  • Acted for Grow More Investments Close Corporation in the conventional transfer of Erf 1533, Nau-Aib 112. Oversaw all aspects of the transaction, including drafting and reviewing the agreement of sale, preparing supporting affidavits, and ensuring compliance with conveyancing and registration requirements.

Dharani Traders CC – Property Transfer (Ondangwa)

  • Advised Dharani Traders Close Corporation on the transfer of Erf No. 1606 in Ondangwa. Responsible for drafting the sale agreement, preparing necessary supporting affidavits, and coordinating the successful registration of the property into the purchaser’s name.

Elao One Hundred and Twenty-Seven CC – Property Transfer (Ongwediva)

  • Represented Elao One Hundred and Twenty-Seven Close Corporation in the transfer of Erf No. 5595, Ongwediva. Managed the drafting of all transaction documents, including affidavits and supporting conveyancing instruments, to facilitate seamless property registration.

Pramukh Properties CC – Multi-Erf Transfer (Ondangwa)

  • Acted for Pramukh Properties Close Corporation in the transfer of multiple properties (Erf Nos. 6941, 6942, and 6943) in Ondangwa. Oversaw the drafting, review, and execution of sale agreements, affidavits, and supporting conveyancing documentation required for registration.
