In 2024, Elham spent a year in the Corporate & Commercial practice and Oil & Gas sector, and has been exposed to diverse aspects, which include but are not limited to research, drafting of various industry-specific agreements, preparing presentations, drafting and submitting various applications in terms of the MPRDA.

• Advised and assisted international oil company on a closure certificate application and notice of withdrawal of production right application.

• Assisted client in due diligence and transfer process for proposed transaction in Guyana.

• Providing comments on behalf of clients on the draft integrated resource plan published in government gazette no. 49974

• Advised international oil company on the disposal of a majority participating interest share and transfer of operatorship in a right to explore for oil and gas resources in the Republic of South Africa, and terms of the joint operating agreement.

• Advised on the Environmental Authorization Appeal process and the submission of responses on appeals on behalf of clients.

• Advised clients on the proposed changes and implications of the enactment of the Upstream Act.

• Draft court document, research attended court hearings, had a appearance before the Magistrate's Court and Bargaining Council, attended consultations with client and counsel, assisted with trial preparation and prepared briefs for counsel.
