The profound reach and impact of CDH's Pro Bono & Human Rights practice in 2025
While we cannot assist all who need our help, we commit to maximizing our impact by concentrating our efforts on matters and initiatives that focus on lasting, systemic change, not just for individuals but for broader communities.
We also share our knowledge to empower others through training and workshops and develop user friendly tools to help individuals and communities understand their rights and the laws that affect them. As Mother Teresa so famously said, “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples."
As part of our drive to maximize our impact, we also recognise the importance of prioritising the needs of those most vulnerable, including children, the elderly, women, asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants, as well as LGBTQIA+ communities and individuals. In the face of the global climate crisis and the threat of the sixth extinction, we also recognise the importance of committing resources to addressing environmental issues and promoting sustainable development. For this reason, we chose to dedicate resources to a novel and important case concerning the development of our section 24 right to a healthy environment, to include protection for animals, in recognition of our interdependence with all other species.
Jacquie Cassette, Head of our Pro Bono & Human Rights practice, reflects, "Thank you to all the partner organisations with whom we have worked during the course of the year for all your support, assistance and entrusting us with opportunities to work together to better achieve shared goals."
