With a steady decline in infection rates, hospitalisations and deaths related to COVID-19, the Minister of Health has recommended a reconsideration of the COVID-19 regulations pertaining to the wearing of masks indoors, the limitations on gatherings and the regulations pertaining to entry requirements.

The recommendations remain in draft form and will be presented to cabinet for consideration tomorrow, Wednesday 22 June 2022. If these recommendations are to be accepted, it will ease the burden on employers to monitor compliance among employees in an atmosphere of COVID-19 fatigue. It will also allow employers to arrange workplace gatherings without any restrictions.
