Webinar Recording | Tax appeal tribunal decides on taxation of carbon revenue in Kenya
The webinar brought together a panel of tax and carbon markets specialists to unpack the recent Tax Appeals Tribunal decision in Wildlife Works Sanctuary Ltd v Commissioner of Legal Services & Board Coordination, a landmark judgment on the taxation of carbon revenue in Kenya. The panelists discussed how the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) views carbon credits and taxation of the same and the Tribunal's analysis on the classification of carbon credits for tax purposes. They also highlighted the practical implications for project developers and investors, and how KRA is likely to approach audits and assessments on carbon-related income going forward.
