• reflecting on practical mechanisms and the kind of institutional frameworks which, if implemented, may hold the developmental keys that unlock Africa’s potential and enables its peoples to thrive, and
• repositioning Africa to its rightful place as an important yet neutral geopolitical voice given its substantial human, material, and natural resources wealth.

At a time of significant global turmoil - and as the world inevitably shifts towards multipolarity - Phuthuma’s insights demands Africans’ reflection on our own agency in our continent’s future. Otherwise, we risk once again becoming spectators and ‘victims’ of a destiny decided by others.
