Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr rankings in Chambers Global 2013
The Chambers Global Guide 2013 rankings were published on 15 March 2013. Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr is ranked in eleven practice areas this year and 25 individual rankings were achieved. Six directors in the firm received Band 1 rankings in their respective sectors.

This confirms that we are delivering excellent client service and are being rewarded for it. We have also increased our presence in both the individual and practice area rankings this year, which aligns with our vision of becoming the leading business law firm in South Africa.
Our top ranked practice areas are Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT), who retain their Band 1 ranking for a fourth year and Capital Markets: Equity who have moved up from Band 2. Also ranked in Band 2 this year Banking and Finance, Capital Markets: Debt, Corporate M&A, Competition/Antitrust, Dispute Resolution, Projects & Energy, and Tax. Practice areas that received Band 3 rankings were Construction and Energy and Natural Resources: Mining.
Ludwig Smith, National Head Finance and Banking Practice, Johan Latsky, Director, Corporate and Commercial, Pieter Conradie, Director, Dispute Resolution, Preeta Bhaghattjee, National Head TMT practice; Kathleen Rice, Director, TMT (telecoms and broadcasting sector); and Emil Brinker, National Head, Tax practice all received a Band 1 ranking in their respective sectors.
Jackie King, Finance and Banking and Clem Daniel, IT & Telecommunications are in Band 2. Kieran Whyte, Projects & Energy moves up from Band 3 to Band 2.
In Band 3 are Biddy Faber and Jackie Pennington, Banking & Finance, Nick Altini, Chris Charter, Natalie von Ey and Andries le Grange from Competition/Antitrust, Chris Ewing, Willem Jacobs, David Thompson and Johan Latsky from Corporate/M&A, Allan Reid, Energy & Natural Resources: Mining, Johan van der Walt and Ludwig Smith, Tax.
Jonathan Witts-Hewinson and Sam Oosthuizen both from Dispute Resolution are in Band 4. Claire Barclay from Projects and Infrastructure is highlighted as 'Up and Coming'.
