Kara Meiring
Kara Meiring is an Associate in our Dispute Resolution practice, practicing with a focus on corporate and commercial litigation, as well as business rescue, restructuring and insolvency. Kara assists in advising corporate clients in a variety of company law disputes and has experience in providing general corporate litigation advice regarding inter alia commercial lease contracts, financial assistance in terms of the Companies Act and POPI compliance.

She was appointed as an Associate in the Dispute Resolution practice in 2022 and admitted as an Attorney and Notary of the High Court of South Africa in the same year.

Litigation matters in the High Court
Worked on various litigation matters in the High Court for several listed companies, including but not limited to PetroSA, Distell Limited, Mediclinic Group, PSG Capital (Pty) Limited, Pioneer Foods Limited, National Students Financial Aid Scheme and Equites Property Fund Limited.
Business rescue, restructuring and insolvency
Experience with business rescue, restructuring and insolvency matters such as liquidation and sequestration applications, business rescue applications, assisting with the running of insolvency enquiries and other insolvency related litigation including the issuing of urgent applications for the extension of a liquidators powers.
Grand Parade Investments
Formed part of the team that assisted Grand Parade Investments, an established empowerment company, with holdings in the food and gaming sectors, with disposals of its interests in various entities, including Burger King in South Africa on the disposal of their interests in Burger King South Africa to a US-based private equity fund.

Provided general corporate litigation advice regarding inter alia commercial lease contracts, master service agreements and regulatory compliance.
