Director

Samiksha Singh is a Director in our Employment practice. Her experience includes assisting and advising clients on unfair dismissal disputes at the various bargaining councils and the Labour Courts, unprotected industrial action, strike management, retrenchment processes and disputes arising there from as well as section 197 transfers. Samiksha has particular experience in the civil engineering, construction and building industries having advised clients in these industries in relation to protected, unprotected and violent strikes at several major projects in South Africa.

Samiksha started her legal career as a Candidate Attorney with Ross & Jacobsz Inc in 2006. She was admitted as an attorney early in 2008 and appointed as an Associate by Friedland Hart & Partners later that year. She subsequently joined Value Logistics as an Assistant Group Legal Advisor. In 2009 she was appointed as an Associate by Cowan-Harper Attorneys and later promoted to Senior Associate. Samiksha joined Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr as a Director in 2015.

  • Assisting and advising clients on unfair dismissal disputes at the various bargaining councils and the Labour Courts, unprotected industrial action, strike management, retrenchment processes and disputes arising there from as well as section 197 transfers.
  • Advised client in a matter which was finally adjudicated by the Constitutional Court and yielded a successful victory for the client.
  • Assisted clients in the civil engineering, construction and building industries during protected, unprotected and violent strikes at several major Projects in South Africa, which include the Kusile and Medupi Power Station Projects and the Cecilia Makiwane Hospital Project.
  • Advised clients on several employment law related matters which includes the drafting of disciplinary charges, opinions on the implications of legislation and case law, drafting of policies and guidelines.
  • Presented various employment related topics to clients and other guests at Client Workshops which were generally held on a biā€“annual basis. In addition to the Client Workshop, also presented Workshops at the premises of clients where Training Sessions, at Group Company
  • Best Lawyers International 2017 - 2019 listed Samiksha for Employee Benefits Law.
