Roelf joined Hofmeyr Herbstein and Gihwala (now Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr) in 2005 as a Candidate Attorney. Shortly after being admitted as attorney in 2007, he joined a niche corporate advisory firm based in Cape Town, where he gained valuable commercial experience. Roelf rejoined Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr in April 2008 as an Associate. He was promoted to Senior Associate in 2009 and became and Director in April 2012.

  • Advising Brimstone on the acquisition of a 25,1% shareholding in Afena Capital.

  • Advising on the establishment of various private equity and structured finance funds, and advising such funds on various transactions.
  • The IFLR1000 2019 recommended Roelof as a notable practitioner in Banking and M&A.
