Ndzalama joined Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr as a Candidate Attorney in 2019. He was appointed as an Associate in the Corporate & Commercial practice in 2021 and he has experience in power projects, due diligence exercises, regulatory advice and opinions in the energy sector.

  • Ndzalama's experience in the energy sector extends to power procurement, generation, transmission, distribution and connection of energy. He has assisted and advised on IPP procurement, regulatory framework governing the electricity and gas sector, and technologies of gas and solar PV.

Risk Mitigation Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme

  • The aim of this programme was to alleviate the electricity supply constraints in South Africa and to reduce the extensive utilisation of diesel based peaking electrical generators in the medium to long term. Ndzalama assisted clients in preparing bid submissions as well as assisting with legal and regulatory advice in relation to grid connection and fuel supply.

Infrastructure Development

  • Legal advisor on the Bakomoso Ba Rona Initiative, an agri-industrial multi-stakeholder development aimed to build a globally competitive, inclusive, environmentally sustainable and diversified economy with the people of the West Rand through facilitating large-scale, socio-economic empowerment. This will be achieved through the development of 30,000ha of land for agri-industrial and commercial purposes, in an economically viable way. The founding partners to the programme are Sibanye-Stillwater, GIFA, the FWRDA and the WRDA.

Due Diligence Investigations

  • Regularly conducts due diligence investigations with a specific focus on the gas transmission and distribution regulatory environment.
