Naasha Loopoo is a Senior Associate in our Competition Law Practice. Naasha's experience includes providing merger notifiability advice in various African and international jurisdictions, preparing statutory merger notifications (standalone and multi-jurisdictional), representing merging parties in contested hearings and representing clients in complaint proceedings before the competition authorities, advising clients on prohibited practices (including cartel conduct, restrictive vertical practices and abuse of dominance), conducting competition law audit reviews and developing competitionlaw protocols for clients across various industries. Prior to joining the firm, Naasha spent 3 years at the Enforcement and Exemptions Division of the Competition Commission of South Africa where she investigated over 100 prohibited practices complaints relating to cartel conduct, vertical restrictive practices and abuse of dominance.
Naasha began her career as a Candidate Attorney at Glyn Marais in 2009. In 2011, Naasha joined AECI Limited as a Legal Advisor and in the same year, she joined the Competition Commission of South Africa in the Enforcement and Exemptions Division as an Analyst. In 2014, she joined Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr’s Competition team as an Associate. She was promoted to Senior Associate in 2017.
