Ben Strauss


Ben Strauss is a Director of our Tax & Exchange Control, and Corporate & Commercial practice areas. Ben focuses on corporate tax, capital transfer taxes, corporate restructuring, exchange control, employee incentive schemes, public benefit organisations, trusts, venture capital, commercial real estate and general commercial work, including mid-tier mergers and acquisitions.  Ben's clients range from start-ups to multinational companies across a variety of sectors including information technology, financial services and private equity.

Ben was admitted as an attorney in 1997 and, after practising elsewhere, joined KPMG from 2001 as a Senior Tax Manager specialising in corporate tax. In 2004 he joined MWEB as a Legal Adviser. Ben joined Hofmeyr Herbstein and Gihwala (now Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr) in 2006 and became a Director in 2007.

Ben has more than 20 years' experience in tax and commercial law.
