The remainder of the Consumer Protection Act will come into effect on this date and the legislation is said to fundamentally change the way business is conducted in South Africa. It is a wide-reaching piece of legislation encompassing a vast array of consumer and supplier related issues. It is designed primarily to promote and protect the rights of consumers.
