Mondo Ntlha is National Head of the firm's Competition practice, dealing with all aspects of South African competition law. Prior to joining Cliffe Dekker, Mondo was the Chief Legal Counsel and Acting Deputy Commissioner of the Competition Commission of South Africa.
Career
Mondo began her career as a Candidate Attorney at Cheadle Thompson and Haysom in 1994 and was made an Associate in 1997. In 1999, Mondo was promoted to Senior Associate. Mondo joined the Competition Commission in 1999 as a Senior Investigator in the mergers and acquisitions division. In 2003, she was promoted to Chief Legal Counsel and Acting Deputy Commissioner. Mondo joined Cliffe Dekker (now Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr) as a Director in 2005.

- Advised Coca-Cola on various merger notifications to the Commission and numerous restrictive practice matters
- Advised Business Connexion (BCX) in its proposed merger with Telkom
- Advised Lonmin in a failed hostile bid by Xstrata
- Advised the Council for Medical Schemes in the healthcare industry in its opposition to a proposed merger between two major hospital groups
- Advised South African Airways (SAA) in a predatory pricing complaint filed by Imperial Air Cargo, a company owned by Comair
- Acting for Air Products in a complaint investigation by the Commission concerning the gas industry
- Acting for Willowton Oil in complaint proceedings before the Commission
- Numerous leniency applications across a range of sectors
- Acted for SAA in raid proceedings instituted by the Commission
